TTB (Turkish Medical Association), DİSK (Confederation of Revolutionary Workers' Unions), KESK (Confederation of Public Workers' Unions), TMMOB (Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects) and ÇİFTÇİ-SEN (Confederation of Farmers’ Unions) made a common press statement in Istanbul, on October 28, 2008 to express the demands of the workers against economic crisis.
General Administrative Committee (GYK) of TTB met in Ankara, on October 25, 2008. More than 100 people from 43 Local Chambers of Medicine, the Central Committees and Central Council of TTB participated in the meeting.
TTB (Turkish Medical Association), DİSK (Confederation of Revolutionary Workers' Unions), KESK (Confederation of Public Workers' Unions), TMMOB (Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects) arranged a press meeting concerning the draft law on Workplace Health and Safety. These institutions stated at the meeting that they could not be the social partners of this law, which is not sensitive to priority of human, health and occupational safety.
