Joint Statement from the Turkish Medical Association and the British Medical Association to Member Medical Associations of the World Medical Association, Calling on Members to ”Take Action for Gaza”

The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) and the British Medical Association (BMA) have drafted a joint statement on the situation in Palestine/Gaza ahead of the World Medical Association (WMA) General Assembly, which will be held in Porto, Portugal, from October 7–12, 2025.

In the joint statement, concrete demands were outlined to stop the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, calling on governments and international organizations to take action. The letter was sent to WMA member medical associations with a request for support.

The statement, along with the names of the signatory medical associations, will be shared with the international public and efforts will be made to place it on the agenda of the WMA meeting.
